Dedication

Searching for the essence of a shared real time experience between the performer and the audience, the performance deals with the notion & reality of being dedicated. It’s main focus is that certain energy that is evoked by dedication, communicating it through clashing form, sound and stage presence.

This performance is the outcome of a  pre- face research of  the following performance “Variations on Closer”, which is due to premiere  in spring 2012.

Margret Sara Gudjonsdottir was born in Reykjavík in 1978. She studied at the dance department of the Art Academies in Arnhem and Amsterdam, and graduated in 2002.Margret Sara co-founded the production company Panic Productions in Iceland in 2004. Since then she has created three performances and two performance installations for gallery spaces, in addition to three collaborative works with invited artists under the name of Panic Productions. She lives and works between Amsterdam and Berlin. As a performer Margret Sara is currently performing in Gisele Viènne’s lates production, titled „This is how you will disappear”, which premiered at Festival d´Avignon in 2010.

Margret Sara has worked with, amongst others: Gisele Viènne, Erna Ómarsdóttir and Jóhann Jóhannsson, Constanza Macras/Dorky Park, Esther Salamon, Jan Fabre, Anne Tismer and Rahel Salvoldelli/Gutes Tun, Lisi Estaras/Les Ballets C de la B. Nir De Volf/Total Brutal.

Laura Siegmund who was born in Hamburg, graduated her performance-studies at the artcollege in Arnhem in the Netherlands. She went to Berlin to work at the “Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz” to dance in the pieces “NoBody” and “17/25-4” from Sasha Waltz. Parallel to this she began to work as a freelancer for different choreographers, among others for Lina Lindheimer in the piece “Solo- Standing on the shoulders of gigants” in Hamburg, Sebastian Prantl, Vienna and for Mikel Aristegui, Berlin. Since 2001 until today she is collaborateing with the direktor  kostume- and stagedesigner Mirella Weingarten in several productions. The last one, “Die Verwandlung” after F. Kafka, was realiesed in the “Konzerthaus Berlin”. Beside her engagements Laura Siegmund is producing her own work as a dancer and choreographer in different kollektives. The recent works are among others “Schattenspiel” from Torsten Papenheim together with the “Garagenoperkollektiv Berlin”.

Peter Rehberg is an author and performer of electronic audio works based in Vienna, Austria. Rehberg has given live performances both solo and collaborative throughout Europe, North & South America, Japan and Australia. He is one of the first batch of artists that turned to mobile computing devices for presentation of live audio performances in mid-1990’s.  Peter operates the Editions Mego (www.editionsmego.com) label since 2006, and was co-director of the original Mego label since 1995.

Peter has composed music for choreographic works by: Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods: Highway, Chris Haring , Gisèle Vienne(DACM) & Etienne Bideau-Rey, Margret Sara Gudjonsdottir/Panic Productions. Peter has collaborated as a musician live and in the studio with, amongst others; Jim O’Rourke and Christian Fennesz (as Fenn O’Berg), Stephen O’Malley (as KTL), Z’EV, Russell Haswell, Florian Hecker, Marcus Schmickler, Jade, SUNNO))), as well as being a member of MIMEO.
