Lost Ballerina

The Lost Ballerina is a collaboration between Icelandic dance artist and circus performer Katla Thor, Italian photographer Davide Bozzalla, and Irish dance artist and choreographer Laura Murphy. This site specific dance work, performed at The National Gallery of Iceland is based on a concept developed by Bozzalla and Thor in 2010. Inspired by the Icelandic landscape and dancer Katla Thor, Bozzalla created a series of photographs which became The Lost Ballerina. Beautifully portraying the vast yet lonely landscape of the  highlands, the photographs capture Thor as a Huldukona – (know in Iceland as A Hidden
Person) or The Lost Ballerina. For the Reykjavík Dance Festival, the gallery will display a selection of The Lost Ballerina photos while Thor will perform live. This site-specific dance performance, co-created by Thor and Murphy, brings to life the story of The Lost Ballerina through imagery and movement.
